The Certification Engineer develops Certification Plans, Compliance Checklists, and Conformity Plans for submittal to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or to Designated Alteration Station (DAS) administrator for executive interior completion projects. These projects result in the issuance of Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs)
Responsibilities Develops company position on any necessary exemptions, equivalent levels of safety findings or responses to FAA issue papers.
Develops a company roadmap for certification of projects resulting in issuance of STC.
Coordinates the interface between engineering and subject FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs). Assures all relevant data is FAA approved for obtaining a STC.
Coordinates with Designated Airworthiness Representatives or DAS inspection staff to assure that all necessary conformity inspections are accomplished in accordance with the conformity plan.
Develops reports to demonstrate FAA compliance for new interior configurations.
Audits and assures completion of approval package.
Coordinates the issuance of the STC.
Requirements Requires a comprehensive knowledge of interior completion projects.
Requires familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations particularly Parts 21 and 25.
Requires knowledge of certification procedures.
Ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree in engineering or aviation management and a minimum of four years experience in interior completion work involving the development of STC packages.
