VOICE ENGINEER
The Command & Control Systems (C2S) Division is seeking a Voice Engineer to serve as a central point of contact, working closely with other organizational support groups, to support the installation, maintenance, and daily administration of the classified and unclassified VoIP and telecommunications equipment, and services, for the military throughout Iraq. The position will be located at Camp Victory Baghdad, Iraq.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Voice Engineer will be required to:
Work closely with site Network, Helpdesk/Remedy, and JNCC-I Voice and COMM-I VoIP Shops while maintaining the current VoIP architecture and services
Interface with vendor and other outside technology support organizations
Demonstrate technical proficiency with Cisco Call Manager and Cisco VoIP hardware
Provide training in the use of equipment and supporting software to end users
Apply understanding of VoIP and telecommunications software and hardware to diagnose problems, determine appropriate course of action, provide complete follow-through to successful resolution or escalate to appropriate support technician and/or department
Maintain documentation of configurations, diagrams, all user requests, repairs and reported issues including cause, resolution and preventative actions
Install new voice communications systems including phones and wiring as well as related system programming, utilizing requisite change and configuration management guidelines
Provide solutions, discussions, and status of normal business processes
Contribute to the overall design and design improvements of the network infrastructure as it applies to VoIP technology

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
CCIE
BS or BA degree in computer science or related technical field preferred, or a corresponding number of years experience in telecommunications industry
A Minimum of 6 years experience with Networks and voice communication equipment in an environment utilizing Cisco VoIP systems including Call Manager Express
Understanding and experience with MLPP and building ISDN, E1 and T1 trunks
Basic understanding of the function and policy of SIPR and NIPR networks
Travel throughout theater as necessary to accomplish assigned duties
Understanding of DISA STIGs and related policies as they pertain to Voice and VoIP communications
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
Meet overseas medical deployment qualifications
Desired:
Experience with Cisco networking, IGX, NORTEL and Avaya hardware and software, and Prologix systems
Excellent customer service skills and demeanor
Demonstrated self-starter and demonstrated ability to independently resolve problems
Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced environment with short timelines
Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations
