The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:



  • Participate in and/or conduct front-end strategic assessment of business pursuits, proposal preparation, and negotiation and administration of contracts of moderate scope and complexity.

  • Examine and understand Forward Pricing Rates, cost structure, estimates of material, equipment, services, production costs, performance requirements and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Prepare bids, process specifications and other reports.

  • Participate in development of Program Business Area goals to ensure they support growth plans.

  • Perform risk assessment of proposals and contracts terms and conditions, develops strategies to minimize their potential risks to the business, and advise management of contractual rights and obligations.

  • Generate and maintain contract data and documentation, and obtain management approval as required.

  • Contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals.


Required Skills:



  • Minimum 8 years of direct experience working in either Contracts administration or Government acquisitions.


  • Thorough and in-depth knowledge of Federal Acquisition (FAR) and Department of Defense Regulations (DFAR) policies and procedures.

  • Excellent written/oral communication skills and business acumen with the ability to clearly recognize risk elements in business transactions.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Customer-focused with capability to resolve contracting issues with win-win solutions while meeting company requirements/guidelines.

  • Proven experience meeting internal and external customer deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.


  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.


Desired Skills:



  • Ability to promote trust and informed risk taking.

  • Ability to develop solutions in variety of complex problems.

  • Experience with IDIQ contract vehicles.

  • Ability to apply business finance, marketing and legal aspects of government procurement to the contract administration function.

  • Secret or higher clearance preferred.


Required Education (including Major): Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contracts, Finance or related field.
