Description Catering & Convention Services Manager - Disneyland ResortThe In House Catering & Convention Services Manager for The Disneyland Resort will act as the liaison between the client and the (3) Hotels, (2) Theme Parks and Downtown Disney for all aspects of conventions and events. Ensure complete success of all events by identifying resources, coordinating logistics, effectively managing on-site, selling food & beverage and theme park tickets while reaching/exceeding common goals of guest satisfaction, cast member performance and revenue targets.
They will ensure that all convention/local social group accounts are handled efficiently and professionally through timely communication, paperwork distribution and on-site coordination. Provide all operating departments with support documentation (resume/banquet event order's), daily communication with operating departments to note client's expectations, provide clarifications, changes and deletions. Conduct and/or attend all support meetings to include pre-convention meeting, post convention meeting, forecast, BEO meeting and Banquet's roll call. Function as the on-site contact to client for all aspects of their events and to be available by telephone and pager.
They will participate in department goals for revenue generation. Develop and create custom proposals for upscale menus, including theme events and entertainment packages for clients. Promote Theme Park Events, Theme Park ticket sales, merchandise sales, meal vouchers and Disney Dollars. Ensure that maximum revenue is captured for Hotel Services in Security, Engineering, Communication and Audio Visual. Knowledge of all Disneyland Resort products including all food and beverage menu's offered at Disneyland Resort.
They will effectively manage three (3) Resort Hotels public function space to ensure maximum utilization, increased catering revenues and increased meeting room rental. Verify accuracy of each program, guide clients in planning/coordinating room sets, food and beverage, attendance and revenue. Enforce and facilitate reduction of meeting space whenever reduction in sleeping rooms occur and collect all contractual meeting room rental and attrition clauses. Maintain full knowledge in operating strategies, i.e. Fire Marshall regulations, beverage laws, ADA Regulations, space capacities, Engineering, Audio Visual, equipment inventory, Resort Entertainment policies and Security procedures.
They will manage sleeping room blocks to efficiently maximize room revenue for three (3) Resort Hotels to achieve forecasted goals. Evaluate room activity, verify and qualify history, track industry trends, enforce attrition clauses and facilitate attendance builders.
They will participate in Division Projects and Special Assignments: Budget process, food and beverage forecasting, 24 month group room forecasting, menu creation and all other projects deemed necessary by the Catering & Convention Services Director.
They will participate in all ancillary functions which enhance job performance, maintain industry knowledge and generate potential future revenue. Maintain membership in at least one support affiliation: ACOM, NACE or SCMP and attend monthly meetings. Conduct site visits for both confirmed clients and potential future clients, solicit affiliate groups while in-house and at the Anaheim Convention Center. Achieve and maintain CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) certification.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS2-4 years experience in the Hotel industry in either Convention Services, Catering or
Operations.
CMP preferred.
Excellent presentation skills.
Knowledge of business practices.
Knowledge of sales techniques.
Solid analytical skills.
Typing skills.
Knowledge of PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office based applications.
Knowledge of food and beverage.
